Rex, How are the RE40's- Tire Rack has horrible reviews. Are they really that bad?PaulRex wrote:I had a set of the 17" Coupe 7 spokes, got them with (nearly new ~200 mile) tires for less than $500 shipped. Watch ebay, you can snag some deals. I ended up re-listing them after I picked up the 18" 350Z Track edition wheels (just like Wes laready HAD) super cheap with (nearly new ~500 mile) Bridgstone RE40's .
For my "conservative" driving style they're fine. I felt comfortable on ramps and in turns for sure. Wes had the RE050's on his and they were very sticky, but didn't last very long. I ony expect to get ~10-12k out of tires, not sure how much Wes got.3rd Q wrote:Rex, How are the RE40's- Tire Rack has horrible reviews. Are they really that bad?Paul
Agreed! Goodyear RSA's are among the worst tires in the world. And, I can't believe how expensive they are anyway.Rex wrote:I was NOT imperssed by the Goodyear RSA'a that were on the G35 coupe wheels.
Depends on the model year. Some were 17x7.0 ... which makes 245/45-17 become just over the limit for wheel width (most need 7.5" wide rims.) However, this is probably close enough not to be too much of an issue if you wanted to do it. Also, narrower tires tend to have insufficient load index, so going with a 245/45-17 is safer.RobertsnewQ wrote:Hmmm - I think these are the SEDAN 17s. They're narrower, right?
