When I hit about 1k rpm I can hear the actuator for the vtc click, then click off when the gas is depressed and returns to idle. I am assuming this just means my vtc is switching on, and off like it should. I am only asking because it's kind of weird how loud it is. Like I said, I assume the clicking is just the vtc being switched on and off. Any input would be nice. I must also say, no there is not timing cam noise just the relay thing clicking.

????, I suppose the the clicking being loud is normal. The car boosts fine and smooth so there should be no problems.

^ Its possible. I can feel it click as well. It acts just like a relay.

I don't hear this noise either. you can always get cam gears and eliminate it you will actually be able to dial in the cams a lot better if the cams are after market, thinking of doing this to my s14sr, I was told you will not notice any power loss, you will gain top end power and lose a little torque but will not make a big change to be noticed, I have herd of others doing this and there are no complaints. anyone that can shed light on this give a shout.

^ Thanks for the info guys. Like I said the noise is not coming from the cam it-self, but from the actuator that the vtc pigtail clip clips into. I don't think there is any problem. I put my car on a dynapak, and she made 240hp, 260lbs of torque. The peak torque was made at 4000 rpm. I only ran 12psi with a manual boost controller. The SR is a great engine, mine builds power all the way out to 7100rpm. Once again thanks for the info.
