Found a great deal on some winter shoes for Gianna, and need to know quickly if:

17" rims with 235/50 blizzaks are ok front and back for my 06 G35.

I currently have the stock 225/40-19 245/40-19 staggered setup.

The 17's with Blizzaks are just what I need, but is it ok to have 235's front and back??!!

What problems could occur if any??

1.7% I think is within the tolerances of the VDC. You should be fine. Running a 10mm wider tire in the front will be okay. You shouldn't rub, and running a 10mm less wide tire in the rear, you will have a tendency to spin the rears a little bit more.

EDIT

You drive a coupe. The tires will fit just fine. You can run all the way up to a 245 in the front ithout rubbing issues.

Ok, so we are talking about just a small spedometer difference? I can definately deal with that.

So that's really it? No major performance/suspension issues having 235's front and back?

AFAIK, you should be just fine. Since the front a rears are the same size, you shouldn't have any issues with the VDC. You also should be just fine in the clearance area as well, unless you have the Brembos.

No Brembo's. Thanks guys for the fast responce. Made my desicion, and despite the fact that these rims are perfect for what I need, I decided against it. They were purchased 3 years ago, and I do ALOT of high speed highway driving. I know that every time I made a high speed lane change, I'd be worried about my safety just a bit.

I'm going the safe route, and will spend the $ for peace of mind. but I'm mounting Blizzaks on my 19's. I don't think I'll be in enough snow to justify the 17's, and I don't have a garage to do changes.

If anyone in the NJ area want a great deal on Blizzaks with 17" rims, here is the link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors....m2455 months ago, he was selling that set for $600, so he's come down quite a bit.

The guy have 95% positive feedback. I would never buy from anybody under 99%. Although it seems to be a good deal.

What is wrong with 3 years old? I'd worry if they were like 6 or 7, but three years isn't really that bad.

Are there any negative side effects to having rims/tires mounted without tpms? Just want to make sure the vdc isn't going to flip out.

The wheel widths and offsets are going to play a bigger part in "will they fit" than the tire sizes.
