Can i just solder some leads to where the tach's pot is and relocate it somewhere where it can be easily adjusted? Let me know, thanks.

Then to calibrate i just "borrow" an autometer tach and run it off wire at pin 7 on ecu plug Y/L (dark blue) correct?

What is redline for an sII rb25?

What I usually do it just adjust it and barely put it back together to test it, usually you can get it right with 2 or 3 adjustments so I don't see wiring in leads as being necessary. Also I just start the car and floor it in neutral... if it bounces of rev limit around at 7k I know were good if not I make adjustments as needed and rev again lol

lol that seems kinda ghetto, just guestimating it using redline.... can i get it close to dead on by using an autometer tach?

the last time i did it i removed the tach and ran some temporary extension wires to the connector plug so i could adjust the pot by hand while the car was running. then i matched the tach to the PFC readout. you can match it with an autometer, safc, consult, etc. too

its not guesstimating actually. when it bounces off redline at the correct tach position I know its set right... ghetto it is... but it's also accurate :D

Only the S14's have the tach adjustment, right?

Anyone know about the JDM s13 clusters? I know it has adjustable speedo, but I'm not sure about the tach.

Hell, I was thinking...I figure at idle if the tach reads 1.5x higher, I just divide what it's showing by 1.5, and adjust the tach to read that. (all at idle)

I need some help with this 2. mine is a s13 with rb20. what is going to be the best way to calibrate the tach? I've read put a 10k ohm resistor, I've read do that and an extra 3k ohm resistor, I've read alot of different stuff and I'm pretty sure it all can't work lol

i adjusted my USDM DOHC tachometer on my S13 and matched it up with my boost controller and PFC.

Yeah, all I have is a turbo timer. lol

How did you adjust your USDM DOHC tach?

I replied to your e-mail (Neejay), but here it is for anyone else that was wondering.

Tach Recalibration.

1. Pull Cluster2. Remove Backing and Clear plastic cover for the gauge.3. Take a sharpie and mark where the needle sits on the gauge face so when you're pulling the needles off you'll know where it sits so its not screwed up when you put them back on, you can also mark the spot it sits on.4. Remove the gauge faces.5. Where the tachometer face is... there is a variable resistor that you can stick a screwdriver in.6. Usually you turn it all the way to the left.7. Once you've done that, do this entire process in reverse order.

You can test the accuracy with a SAFC or some other monitoring device. I used my boost controller set to six cylinders as well as my PFC. It will take some tinkering with as well as patience.

I have a complete JDM cluster that is calilbrated for 6 cylinders that is plug and play. email me at [email protected]
