i knoe some guys who import engines from japan and they said they will hook me up with a s14 engine and transmission for 1400. its in good condition, some of my friends have gotten engines from them before, they compression test and all that ****. the thing is, i was thinking of getting one and just putting it in my garage until i have engough money to fully build it and get the turbo kit i want. i just want to knoe if any of u think that keeping the engine sitting in my garage for a couple months will do any harm to it. like rust or any damage from just sitting there. thanx

or get a Tec3 or Haltec and you'll have everything you need.

No. You have to remember that this engine has been sitting in a junk yard in Japan for quite a while. If something was going to happen to it for sitting around then it has already happened.

FYI...my engine has been sitting in my garage for 9 months now. I'm dying to put it in, but this stuff takes time and money. I have all but the hotpipe/bov, so I'm going to start putting it in next month. The car will just have to sit there until I can afford that part.

Best of luck!

there is no best way to get that. Thats the other **** you dont care about.

If you have to ask if letting a motor sit is going to damage it maybe you should rethink your plans.

in other words, if u thought that just having a covered up motor was going to hurt it, then you should think about what ur doing first. If you dont get an ecu or wiring harness then you need a full standalone engine, fuel and ignition managment like they said before...

basically you will not be saving any money if you dont get the wire harness ecu igniter. for those three thing s alon you would be close to an extra thousand. just buy a motor set or a clip a motor set comes with every basic thing to make it start the clip will come with everything you need to drive the car with out spending alot of extra cash. its not cheap nothing in this market is cheap, and the things that are cheap end up costing more money than you think, good luck peace

he has a good point, a standalone fuel and ignition management will cost you more than the stock ecu and harness, so ur better off gettin a front clip
