that gasket is the headgasket. It seals between the front cover/oil pump, and the bottom of the head.

How bad is it leaking? Your car isnt fubared, but it is a pain, I have the same issue. In order to deal with it, you would likly pull the front cover and goop it up with liquid gasket. That is no fun with the motor in the car! So alternativly you could pull the head and goop it up from the top side. Also not really a fun job, unless you have to.

One thing to try, there are 2 10mm bolts that clamp the front cover to the head to seal up this location (you can see the 'lumps" in the casting where you circled) Try tightening them up. Looks like you have an Apex hg, maybe when that was put in the guy didnt torque those bolts enough, they're in an awkward spot.

quickest easiest fix i can suggest for you is to slather a little silicon on the outside. That's no permanent fix mind you but it will reduce the leaking.

The only permanent fix you could do is to pull the front cover, which requires pulling the upper oil pan. That is NOT fun with the motor in the car. If you pull just the front cover, you run the risk of leaking at the oil pan where you broke the silicon gasket between the front cover and oil pan.
