I was driving my car up and down the street, all running great and well, idling really nicely and well

and the negative of the battery pops off at about 2500 rpm and the car just shuts down abruptly

now the car will not idle unless i put a little pressure on the gas. if i let off it gets very low for a moment and shuts off

what could have happeneD?!?

thank you

im no mechanic but i dont think the car should shut off after its been running even if the battery unhooked......the alternator shouldve taken over for you..........problem with the alternator? check your alternatior belt make sure its tight

yeh, maybe ur alternator needs rebuilding because ur car never actually runs off ur battery as long as ur alternator is working good, the battery is mainly for starting the car, but there are some exceptions to this( stereo amps, undercar neons maybe UGGGGGGHHHHH) Maybe do an alternator output test.
