well im so close to buying another 24o (92 white 5spd hatch!!) however the odometer and speedometer are stuck at about 67k and the speedo doesnt work, nor does the tripometer, however the tach works perfectly. Now i know hte usual pull fuses and what-not, which i plan to do hoping it solves hte problem, but i searched and nowhere did i find where i could 'reset' the odometer. The friend im buying it from said it went out about 3 yrs. ago, and i figure she's probably driven it about 45k in 3yeas, putting it at a tad over 112k. How do i set the odometer to 112k, and get the speedo working? And of course i searched, just couldnt really get positive answers, thanks in advance guys.

You need to fix the worm gear in the odometer. Take it apart and and you should see what I mean. The Speedo is prob. shot. I just had to replace mine. Went to a junk yard and got a cluster. my dad swapped them out. The speedometer is held in with 3 screws.

You can replace only the speedo. Like I said it is in there with 3 screws. It plugs into the cluster. To get to the cluster you have to drop the steering column, and take out the plastic bezel around the cluster. Not the whole dash.

krazy is right, its not that hard to replace your speedo... if you were getting an s14 i could supply you with the extra speedo (I have a spare gauge cluster), but a junkyard would probably be your best bet now. It's not hard to replace, definately a quick afternoon DIY job.

It's funny cse we just tackled this job last week with my car. I bought a new cluster so my dad could have his back and the damn speedo didn't work in the one I bought. So my dad swapped just the speedo on the cluster. I had to go pick up a nother cluster so he could get the speedometer for his 240sx. Which he is putting up for sale soon.
