I removed my front passangers side caliper brake fluid leaks out of the line. does this mean i have a leak.

By leak i mean when the petal is not pressed down should there be a vacume in the line to pull the piston back in the caliper? there seems to be no vacume. either the way i thought the system worked is wrong or i have a leak somewheres.

Can someone shed some light on this for me.

TIA,Kyle

It leaks when te caliper is not attached to the line. so the copper washer will not be a factor.

my question is should the line stream brake fluid when there is no caliper attached and the petal is not depressed.

Do you mean you have an open ended brake line when the caliper's off?

yep. unfortunately its called gravity. pulls everything down. how depressing. all the fluid in the reservoir will flow out til its empty. i suggest hooking everything up and rebleeding your brakes. then look at all the connections to see if you have a leak.

Well thanks for your help and you can shove you sarcasm up your ***. i was asking if there was a vacume that would pull the piston back into the caliper, but as i only came up with this theory on my own and not haveing and hardcopy of how it works to read i decided to ask...

i clamped off the line so i will not have to rebleed all of the brakes.

Thanks for the clarification

Kyle
