i got my new safc today and am going to install it soon. i wanted to know when installing it do i completely cut the wires needed and attach them directly to the safc wires, or do i just tap into the ecu wire and leave it connected to the ecu harness plug?

you can tap into the tps, rpm, knock, power, and ground wires.you have to cut the mafs wire.

make sure you tap correctly for the grounds.

skantanic covered it pretty well, You have to tap into anything that the safc needs to read from (EX: rpm, tps) and you have to cut and reconnect the MAFS the way the manual shows. The MAFS is the signal the safc modifies to achieve what you are asking it to do so it needs to be cut. The side that goes to the mafs goes into the SAFC input wire, and the other end of the wire(which would run to the ecu) goes to the ouput side of the safc mafs wire. its 3 am and im drunk but i usually have my wiring down.

all the wires just TAP into the ecu wires EXCEPT the maf wire. these wire that get tapped are just for viewing the information going to the ecu so the safc knows when to make adjustments.

the maf wire gets cut. the safc goes betweent his wire like virus was explaining. this is how the safc adjusts the ecu's fuel map

I have no turbo in my car, but my SAFC is in, connect everything, just don't make any corrections on the fuel and your car will be fine, I've been running my SAFC for 3 weeks this way and no foul results, you can even see it on my cardomain page.
