quick s13 headlight wiring question

hey all

so as you know the s13 headlight bulbs are a 3 prong, single filiment headlight design correct?

i am doing some work on headlights and the new bulbs that are going in are 2 prong, single filiment

so what i need to know is:

how does the stock 3 prong work??

my guess is that one is ground, and the other two are powers, one controling normal lighting, and the other adding more power for high beams controled by a relay

can anybody confirm this?

note: i have H4 conversions so these are pics of those bulbs

Are you talking sealed beams? either way this is the pinout and its not a single element in the sealed beam either since its all about the angle. If you notice when you hit the high beams the beam is actually aiming higher off the ground then the low beam. If it only provided more power to the single element they'd call them bright beams.

yeah i noticed that afterwards, i was just fooling around with it and a 14 v battery last night

i got it wired so that it flips on correctly but i got no high beams, which is fine with me because what i did was:

took the 240sx bulb housing and cut it and stuck in a lexus high beam projector and bulb and right now im fabbing the eye lid so that it will pivot when i want the eyes to close and open because its pretty big projector

its really bright, anyways yea making clearence for it has been the biggest thing but its getting there, ill post when its all done and legit
