i know street racing is not tolerated here but ill share my story anyways...so i was on the 15fwy going north bound going to the dealer to pick up my motor mount since mine is worn out. so i was trying to merge onto the far right lane to get ready to exit just a couple miles away.. when i tried to change lanes some guy with a 5.0 mustang all of a sudden didnt let me go thru so then i tried passing him. when he got next to me, i noticed right away the passenger had a camera videotaping and told me "nismo cars are f****** wack". so then i got pissed so im like "ok lets see if thats true" so we did the roll off from 80mph at 3rd gear with no cars on the way. right away i start pulling from him half a car. when i shifted at 4th gear i had em by about 2 cars. by the time i hit 120ready to switch to 5th gear, then i had em by about 6 cars. by the time i knew it, i was already doing 156 mph just about redline on 5th gear and by then the 5.0 mustang driver had already lost to my 2.5s by about 20 cars. i was suprised i actually hit that fast of a speed with my car since ive never passed 140mph since it gets a bit scary from there. well thats my short story

Er, I'm guessing you've had the "electronic speed control" disabled? Cuz I thought that was supposed to kick in at about 128 so you don't blow the OEM tires up... or maybe the MTs don't have it?

Is 113 the speed limiter on the SE? I thought it was a little higher (about 128 or so) b/c they ship with a higher speed rating on the OEM tire.

Is it 135 or 145 on a CVT & MT or what. Before I have Tim install my Turbo I was on the freeway on the freeway in the early AM with "NO CAR IN SIGHT" as far as I could behind and ahead of me. I did my thing and it only got up to 125/6 and it wouldn't go further. It was a level freeway no incline or decline. I had the pedal to the floor. I haven't done it again with the turbo on. It's a stupid thing to do I admit, but sometimes you're just eager to see what your car can do you know .

BTW: How the marrige plans coming along dude? I'm 23 yrs. old and been married since Dec 15th of 08. It's wonderful. I don't know why people make a HUGE deal about "your life is over" and "you're no longer free." Nothing changed for me AT ALL.

nothing much has changed really. we plan on being engaged till we finish school. but I'm really happy being engaged and spending time with the in-laws. I think thing only change if your trying to be a player and mess around with a bunch of girls which I've left those days behind a while ago.

I took my car up to at least 130 MPH. I thought it was 135 but do not 100% remember (sort of hard to look closely at your speedometer while going that fast and focusing on the road). rob said he topped his out at 135 MPH so supposedly the CVT tops out at 135 MPH and the 6MT tops out at 145 MPH.

ya the 2.5 can go pretty fast with no limiter. I saw a video of some guy in the middle east doing about 156 MPH with a CVT 2.5s... I guess over there they dont come with limiters. it was in KM/H but I converted it to MPH and it was like 155 for a STOCK CVT 2.5S. ill see if I can find the vid and post it

thats what i had thought too! they claimed your info was still on your car settings which caused the tuner not to work on my car. and 156 mph took a while to get up there but since it was a downhill slope i got there without a problem

actually i already did but i lost the slip lol

my 1/4 mile time was at 14.8 sec. at 96 mph i think with .003 reaction time with open headers and the weather was at about 70 degrees. like everyone else, i had no traction so i burned out quite a bit on first gear. and on a hot day i hit an embarrassing 15.7 sec lol

I did a 13.912 in the cold and on a 100 degree day with the same exact set-up, I did something crazy like a 14.8 or 15.1.

good thing about CVT is that it ALWAYS has traction. 6MT ppl just spin through 1st and sometimes 2nd gear but CVT cars just hook right away

you think high 15s is embarrasing i took mine to the track stock after i got it & hit 16.6... the only thing that made me feel a lil better is i was racing an eclipse (maybe 04ish) & that hit 18 sumthin lol but ill feel lucky if i can get low 15s after i get my header & bullydog

Is it better to turn VDC off or keep it on while taking off?

I dont have VDC so I'd say turn it off lol I turned off the traction control stepped on the brake and gas to build up RPMs and then just take your foot off the brake when you want to go.
