I was wondering if I could upgrade to this turbo with my stock turbo mani-fold, If not What is the best turbo for the RB25det stock T-manifold??? I'm looking for 400-450hp (mainly more) and is this website good for buying turbo's http://cheapturbo.stores.yahoo.net/gatu.html , if not, the right direction would be nice. Thanks guys for reading and any reply would help me out so much, I did search but most of the topics were blank or maybe my com is messing with me. Thanks !!! OH, one more thing, can anyone help me with questions to ask the person (Turbo seller) on what the RB25's turbo stock mani specs are? and do i need a internal wastegate. Thanks so much.

You need to do a lot more research, my friend. check out http://www.ATPturbo.com and learn how to read compressor maps. the guys at atp turbo have really helped me learn about turbos. for 450 hp the 35 seems like overkill to me. I really am not sure. there are many variations of the 30/35/40 family of turbos, all with their ups and downs. Every engine is a big air pump, and it is all scientific. It takes certain variables, such as air flow, air temp, fuel mix, pressure, moon phase, etc, to make X amount of horsepower. the turbo is just one piece of the puzzle. SCC did a great writeup a long time ago on how to determine your turbo needs and how to interpret maps as well. Dont mean to get on a soapbox. ATP turbo has some wicked stuff, like an internally wastegated GT3071R with a V-band discharge (makes fabrication a little easier). that should get you 400-450 and spool super quick. Something else to consider is getting your stock turbo modified, ie new wheels, center section porting etc. can be done for a grand easy. might get you 400, but would definately be easiest. Good luck!!!

Man id get the gt35r; i had one and loved it. I wasnt even boosting past 8lbs but the potential was there. the guy that bought my car has since tuned it with injectors and is at almost 500rwhp..

in order to get that turbo to work on the stock manifold u will need to get longer bolts and have a plate made that goes between the turbo and manifold. this will give you the gap so you wont have the compressor hitting the manifold. hopefully chaos will chime in and tell ya about it.

Dude, that site has a lot of good information on it. Holy cow. I think I know what turbo I am going to go with on the Laurel to achieve my 250-300 horsepower....

GT35R should be perfect on a 25... very balanced turbo (comp and turbine wheel sizes...) which makes it work well with a lot of applications.

The guys at ATP are very nice... give them a call and talk to them a bit about what you're looking for...

Stay away from ebay/random vendors for turbos as you might end up with some chinese version with less than spec components (cheaper materials)... my .02
