First off, the manifold and turbo and intercooler are really the only things left for me to get on the car. O ya and the oil feed line . So whats on the car right now is: 370cc SR injectors, SAFC, tapped oil pan, 300zx tt fuel pump, blitz boost gauge, blitz turbo timer, oil pressure gauge, a/f gauge, volt gauge, and ACT clutch.

Now my safc is set at -30% across the board but the car is still backfiring. Should i lean it out even more or just leave it how it is? I know the narrowband A/F gauges dont tell much but mine doesnt do any bouncing around when im on the highway at around 3500 rpms. Its pointing rich and i am backfiring during down shifts but should i really need to mess with the safc any more to prevent those things from happening? (the answer to this could help someone else in a similar NA situation)

Secondly, the boost gauge. Now i am running the Blitz DTT and with vacuum, i pull -.75-.80 mmHg and around town, i get -.40 to .30 in vacuum. Is this normal? I dont know how to convert it but im sure one of the ka-t peeps do. Maybe someone could help me there.

Last but not least, wish me luck this thurs. Once the final things get on the car, its off to the muffler shop for all of the piping.

definately get a wideband, buy one, borrow one, tune on a dyno that has one, etc., but dont try to do any tuning without one

when you first start out with your safc tune, your probably going to want to put it overly stupid rich, or where you think is safe then lean it out until you get your desired AF when in boost........ with this rich setting, fuel can coat the cylinder walls and leak past the rings; fuel in the oil = breaking down the lubrication properties, so change your oil after you get this bad boy tuned correctly.

maybe people with 370s and safc can chime in and post what their safc % maps look like to give the other na > turbo ppl a base line of where the genral fuel correction should be close to. (post compressor wheel and boost level, or whp)

take your fuel pump fuse out and turn over the engine to get the oil primed into the turbo..... let it idel there a lil while just so that everything is nice and stuff, i know you have had that turbo in ur closet for a while, let it get back in the groove of running again. (personal opinion)

so im guessin that oil bung i did for you is holding up?
