Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum. Just picked up my first infiniti. Got a m37x 2011 with the premium package (navigation, 10 speaker bose system etc). Now to my question,

I am upgrading my stock audio system and would like to know what else is needed.

So far I have purchased
1 Fi Q 12"
1 soundqubed Q1-2200D amp for my sub
2 6x9 Morel Tempo Ultras for my front doors
2 6.5" morel tempo ultras for my rear doors
1 infinity kappa four amp for my interiors
1 xs power d3400 battery (going to run this as my second battery in the trunk)

I am going to be putting this together myself. So my question is, how should I be running the wiring for my subs / interiors. Do I need line out converters or something like that to run from the factory amp to my aftermarket amp? Also do I need 2 of these, one for my sub amp and one for interior amp?

Last system I did my self was on a Honda . Much simpler with an aftermarket radio.

Any tips to make this process simpler would be appreciated. And what else should be on my shopping list.

I only installed 1 amp to power my sub. I tapped into signal wires from the Bose amp. But with 2 amps, you may want to consider a nice LOC for high to low signal conversion...unless the infinity amps have it built in. You can get an Audiocontrol LOC( or something similar) and connect both your amps to that.

Thanks I will look into it. Will the loc affect the sound quality at all?

The loc wont. From what I understand tapping the signal before the BOSE amp will give you a clean signal. The BOSE amp processes the sound.

How exactly would I be tapping this signal before the bose amp?

The amp has 3 harnesses, 2 with signal into the amp, 1 with the signal out. The ony problem is I dont know the coding for the wires yet. I have not been able to find the service manual that explains the color codes for the M. Some codes appear similar to the G with Bose but not all.

I'll be rewiring my sub this week so I'll see if I can figure some more of the color codes out.

We need the service manual.
