quick question will a sohc thermostat housing fit on a dohc? ka24

My friend has a broken thermostat housing, on his 93 dohc ka24, but all we can seem to find in the junk yard is sohc ka24's, is the thermostat housing interchangeable, since it pretty much is the same block? what about the timing chain cover, is this also interchangeable? thanks
