stick it in D and let it take care of itself.

Otherwise shift it when you feel like shifting it. If you don't feel like shifting it, it will shift for you.

if u just wanna play w/ it then shift at 3000, i usually try to shift at around 4400 to race it up a bit ......but really you can shift anytime u want, CVT will adjust if u don't shift correctly, its not really manual

I guess the better question is -- where is the powerband fattest on this car?

there's a debate whether to shift at max torque which for the V6 is about 4300 RPM or max HP which is like 6500 or something? but anyway, the CVT won't let u get that far aniway, it will shift itself before then, so that's why I shift around 4400

make sure the kickdown switch is pressed down, it will redline.

One of the ideal features of the CVT is the transmission can keep the engine at a set RPM, say the max power output is 6000 rpm, if you shift by yourself the engine goes below & over 6000. If you let the transmission do its own thing it stays at peak power and just accelerates

The only time I use the manual mode is to slow down at a stop sign or to stay in a lower gear through some twisties. If you are trying to accelerate fast i think the transmission sitting at peak power is reason enough to let it do it's own thing.

If you want to go red line you need to get the ECU prog for your car. this way you can turn on off your dash warning lights, make the car run lean/rich. come on how do you think we are gong to pass emmisions with 2 turbos? LOL. Get the ECU prog.
