I am in the process of deciding if i want a supercharger or a turbocharger kit. Im leaning towards the Single Turbonetics kit a lot.

Which would you recommend?

What kind of Gas Mileage Do you typically see after adding one of these???

Thanks

You definitely want turbo. Superchargers are great too, but if your looking for better efficiency and more power, a turbo is the way to go. Superchargers are good for the fact there is no lag and instant boost pressure, but i don't see you getting nearly as much power out of one as you would a turbo. Turbo, you can always go bigger, and most of the available kits are more powerful than the superchargers. In my mind, Turbonetics 60-1 kit is definitely the way to go. That is what i plan to do when the money is right (porbably next year, building heads this year). One thing you might want to consider is the UTEC by TurboXS. Its an upgrade computer that is probably the best for the Z and the turbonetics set up. That will allow you to have different map settings for different AFR and boost. Basically they will be able to tune your car to max power, safely and more efficiently and you will definitely see higher numbers out of that turbonetics set up with the UTEC. All i can really say is do what makes since to you, and what ever makes you happy. If you have anymore questions, post 'em and i will try to help you the best of my knowledge.

Superchargers are more efficient and better and more reliable for your z. Now on the other side turbos are real nice to have because you are hitting the power sooner and harder. Turbo will be faster, but hit's the engine harder.I went vortech supercharger. But i wish i went turbo for the better power kick.

i thought u hit the power sooner on a SC than a turbo b/c of turbo lag due to having to build exhaust pressure instead of being powered by belts???

Your right. tooskerdo has got something mixed up. Turbo's are more efficient than superchargers, but yes turbo's can be harder on your motor, but thats also based on most people run higher boost with turbo because they can. Boost is not "safe" whether it is SC or turbo. The turbo is more efficient because it boosts off of the exhaust, where a SC is powered by a pulley, that is tied into your belt system, which runs off your motor turning. Turbo: exhaust=intake(air) = more exhaust = more air = even more exhaust = lots of air = way more exhaust = tons of air = tons of exhaust = SHIFT. Yes it does have lag, but an SC is not at full boost off the line either, it just has a lot more off the line, but in the end you build more out of a turbo, there fore they are more efficient. Also when you need the power is when you'll have it; high RPM's. Your turbo boost is at higher RPM's, and when you want the power your going to be driving at higher RPM's already. i.e. down shift to race, rev high to launch for drag, or just time attack autocross taking corners fast and shooting up the straights. Both turbo and SC are going to give you a lot of power, it just depends on how much you want?

yeah thats what iv been thinkin was right... my past cars have been turbo but i might switch to SC with my new z, iv been lookin around and research and turbo is just alot more upkeep and parts than a SC so i might change my mind if not im goin with turbonetics single kit

do it.... i want the turbonetics kit, i've talked to people who have it and they love it. It makes as much or more power and is cheaper than the twin kits.
