alright so as far as i can tell from all the stuff i have seen about the steering set up on the s13

the knuckle arm usually hits the lca and thats how its stops at full lock

kpr and PSM kit has the stopper and godspeed has the lca with the adjustable stopper and what not

so the question basically is would it be ok to have the knuckle NOT hit the stopper for full lock but instead be maxed out at the rack (tie rod end hitting the rack) and are there other cars that run off this same principal?

i get about 45* of angle from my steering but the knuckle does not hit the LCA but instead maxes out at the rack

the only thing im worried about is when i DO hit full lock if its hard enough it might just pull the inner tie rod out from the rack since thats where the force is going too....that would be very bad

so yea just curious if i really should put in a stopper in there just in case...

the stock angle is 36* how are you getting 45*? do you have spacers on your inner tie rods? i dont think you would be able to pull the inner rod out of the rack. they are threaded in so unless it is backing it self out then i see no way for it to come out with out you knowing it. :dblthumb:

No you want the outer tie rod to hit, you don't want the tie rod and steering knuckle to over center.

oh yeah i didnt even think about that it would just "pop" into more possible angle that could be very bad, i had thought it would probably rip the inner out of the rack

thanks for the reply, since the arm is relocated the normal stopper does not work so i got to weld on a new one, good to know
