A friend offered me some 17" Enkei wheels and tires but when I went to install them, though they fit, the lug nut assembly was completely different. Instead of standard lugs his actually had the studs attached because his rotors just have threaded holes in them, So my question is...can the studs be unscrewed out of mine so I can take advantage of his offer? If so, how difficult is it to do and how does one go about doing it (any tips, special tools necessary etc.) Thanks as usual -Glyph

To my best knowledge lugs nut / studs make no difference when installing a wheel, either should do the same job.of holding the rim on. I'm not sure i've ever heard of converting somthing to lug studs although anything is possible with enough work. I'd wouldn't do it personally. If 3 lug nuts come off when driving for who knows why reason, you'll still be ok, if 3 studs fall out you might have some trouble. Also studs are a pain to work with when trying to line up the first lug to put the rim back on.
