So I just got the CS Inner/Outer Tie rod set last week and I was wondering what these washers/spacers are used for.

Here's a pic of them.

They are so you will get more steering angle. Just wondering, but did you read the description when buying or do you just buy things without really knowing what you are getting???

I bought them cause they were way cheaper then the OEM type ones.

And where do they go? Where the inner tie rod connects to the rack? Cause that's the only place they fit. :S

Yes, and the description should have told you that washers are included for more steering angle. The washer goes on the inner part of the socket closest to the rack and if you dont need extra streering angle, dont use the washer.

There's nothing in the description about any washers for more steering angle.

They're probably used where the outer tie rod connects to the hub/spindle, they're to keep the rod parallel with the ground. You only need them if your car is lowered. That's the way my SPL ones are anyways, just add/remove until they sit level with the ground.

Nope, too big to fit there.

Then your ball joints must not be seated properly. That is not where they go.

OP: That is indeed a spacer that goes b/t the inner tie rod and the steering rack. If you're not drifting, you don't need it.

Blacksrjdm & asoomal: SPL's OUTER tie-rod ends are different than many others. They do/did include "spacers" for the OUTER tie-rod to help correct the angle on the end (on lowered cars) where it attaches to the spindle. But they are the only company I know of that does this.

Two separate spacers you guys are talking about.
