Got a simple and noobish question here. I've just got my valve cover painted today, so in the process I removed the crank angle sensor (hope that is what's called - the silver piece on your exhaust cam) and when I installed it all back, I've noticed that the crank angle sensor is wobbling a bit. I've made sure all the bolts were fairly tight (didnt want to over tighten them cause I already broke one doing so) and everything seems fine. Hope it's suppose to do that cause I really didnt pay any attention to it before, also...my timing went up to 18 degrees idling now, it was suppose to be at 15. Do I adjust that with a timing gun? Thanks in advance!

That is the sensor thats driven by your exhaust cam shaft.. Cam angle sensor.

You should always re-time your car after removing this sensor. 15 degrees BTDC I believe with the TPS unplugged.

Thanks! Actually it went back to 15 degrees, so not worry much about that now...now is it suppose to wiggle like it's doing now?

you got me on the wiggling thing... I'm not totally sure about what you're saying.. If your really worried, take off the timing belt cover and look at the aluminum bracket it mounts too.

Good luck

Is the sensor housing wiggling against the btracket and timing cover? Did you maybe put it back on without the shaft lining up right inside against the end of the cam?
