quick question on tire size

First I have an 89 240sx with an S14 5-lug conversion.

I just bought a set of ATS DTM rims. They are 17x8 with a 35 offset. What tire size should I go with? I will most likely go with a 215/50/17 for the front, and I want the widest tire possible on the rear. Would a 275/40/17 fit? I know that 275mm=10.8" so would that fit or is it to wide? If that won't work what is the widest I can go with?

215-50-17 is too tall.....I'd go with a 225 or 215-45 17 all around..if you don't have wider wheels in the back..why would you run a wider tire?

the widest I would go on a 8" wheel would be a 235-40-17...-Chet
