Hi guys,

I just want to get your input before I spend my money. I have my eye on the Tein Basic coilover system and was wondering if they would be okay with this wheel tire configuration for my s14:

7.5 +25 225/45/17 front and 8.5 +30 245/40/17 rear

With this set up would I still be able to maintain stock specs for camber adjustment and keep it all in the fenders?

Thanks to all

I'm going to defer to Chet or Nismo Freak on this one. There are a lot of factors involved with that type of a setup and they are going to likely need more specifics....

Okay, thanks Grant. Well, I'll try to get measurements on the coilover set if I can find them.

your fronts should clear fine, and I dont see a reason for the rears to not clear....

I'm running 17x7.5" 30mm offsets, because that tucks nicely and will clear coilovers, and thats on an a13(which has about 8mm less inner clearance than an s14...)

so you should be fine, as far as camber specs..that will depend on what you plan on doing with the vehicle..get it corner weighed, and then adjust the camber to spec s according to your intended use.

I run -1* front and -1.5* rear for agressive street...when in doubt, align it to nissan specs and be happy :)-chetalso: what tire sizes are you planning on runnning? that will determine if it will tuck well and how low you can set the coilovers(if you wnat that "super low, I dont realise that thios sucks for handling" look)

225-45-17 front 245-40-17 rear

Ultimately, I would like to have enough travel for a good handling daily driver. You raise a good point. I have read that aggressive lowering can greatly effect the geometry of the multilink suspension. So, I am going to say I probably won't go much more than an inch or inch and a half. Just out of curiosity, what do you usually run on yours, height wise? Yeah, I want to keep it at Nissan camber specs to keep my tires in good shape. I've just heard of some guys running more negative camber so they can clear wider wheels which I would like to avoid.

Thanks man

my height will be set at -1.6 front and -1.6 rear, then corner weighed and adjusted acordingly, once I get my coilovers :)your wheels and tires arent wide enough to necessitate any wild negative camber specs(which dont make the car handle any better, so tell your friends anything over 2.5* negative is a waste, period.)-chet

Just a little update. The wheels I wanted to order turned out not to be available in the finish I was looking for. Im back to square one again. I found some 17x8s with a +35 offset. I know you aren't really big fan of wider wheels, but I was wondering if I could fit 17x9s w/ +35 offset in the rear without sticking out. In this instance I may stay with the original size of tires I have picked out 225-45 front 245-40 rear despite the wider rims. I would like to be able to squeeze in coilovers if possible.?? :BEER
