Anyways, this has been bothering me for the longest time now, and ever since getting my Kouki tails, it's been driving me a little more nuts as the days pass. Basically, my S14 trunk sits a little higher, so when you look at the rear, you can see that the kouki tail light lines are not lining up properly. . .

Here's an actual picture of my S14's rear end, this will give you guys a better idea of the alignment issues I'm experiencing.

I already tried to fix this, and my attempts failed. I tried adjusting the striker latch on the car by loosening the 2 screws and pushing the latch all the way down, but when I finished tightening everything back up, I wasn't able to open the trunk from the inside. Plus, it didn't really lower it much.

So if anyone knows the correct way to lowering the trunk, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance, help would be greatly appreciated!

Mine does the exact same thing. its annoying at first but you get used to it. If you notice though your body lines line up fine. if you lowered it your trunk lid body line would be off if that makes sense.

Well the thing is, even my trunk body line is higher than the chassis. . From the pic, you can see that the right side is a little higher. . Well when you look at the top of the trunk, it's higher than the chassis, so you can tell it needs to be adjusted to sit flush with the chassis, and with the kouki tails.

now that i look at it your left gap is more than your right. was your trunk ever hit? maybe the lid is a little warped.

Get someone in the trunk with a light and shut them in there. Loosen the 4 10mm bolts that hold it on. After they do this, move the trunk where it goes. Then have them tighten the bolts up and adjust the latch accordingly. Just did mine recently.

What 4 bolts are you talking about? The 2 bolts on the trunk (that connects to the latch), and the 2 bolts on the latch at the bottom? And basically loosen and re-tighten until it's even?

4 bolts hold the trunk on the rods that it swings up and down on, 2 on each rod. They are 10mm. They have all the lid adjustment in them. Close the trunk with a friend in there, loosen these 4 bolts, adjust it. Re-tighten the bolts, and adjust the latch only if you messed it up.

Ohh. . . I actually did try loosening those bolts. . But I realized it wasn't doing anything since it just connected the trunk to the swingers in the trunk. So those 4 bolts can actually adjust the height of the trunk etc? Hmm thanks a lot dude, I'll try it tomorrow and let you know how it goes!
