I just came back from a car meeting. A guy who had '94 Convertible started telling me that my bone stock '90 NA was repainted because the gravel/rock protection that I have on the front, rear and side bumpers (the surfaces are rough and bumpy to protect from gravel) didn't come with the car originally. Did that protection come with the car or is it an add-on from the previous owner that required a repaint?

On another subject, I'm usually not a fan of Z32 Convertibles but I must admit that his was nice: black with the beige leather and suede and Bose sound system (better than leather and tweed, I must admit). And for some reason, I like the fact that convertibles really seem shorter than non-convertibles. I was wondering: what was the price of a convertible back in '94?

Your paint looks 100% OEM to me. All Z32's have had the rock guard on the rocker panels and front bumper since 1989. A popular thing to do is sand it off though. His paint is most likely non-OEM. A good sign is the lack of the moustache or the mirror trim being painted, of which you still have both of yours intact.

Thanks, that is what I thought but didn't want to start arguing since I wasn't 100% sure. By the way, I also have the rock guard on the rear bumper.

Yeah, it was stock all around the car. I didn't like it at very first, but I do now.

Good! I even have the original floor mats written 300ZX on them. I think, starting in '91, it was written "Z" on the floor mats.

You're correct about the floor mats. I can't find the reference, but I know I've read that somewhere before.

Also, the price of a vert back in '94 was most likely somewhere around $34,000. Maybe a little more. Base price in '90 was $30,095.00 MSRP. I wish I still knew where all my reference sites were.

Here is my reference for the floor mats:

Anyone on this site with a bone stock white leather interior has the right to ask more for his Z: only 1367 Cars sold in the USDM. That being said, I wish my gold was a '91 instead of a '90 because there was only 6 Gold '91 made for the USDM.
