As of now I have 16" chrome wheels (ew) on my 240. Not really my type of style, so I'm starting to save up for some new 17" 5-spoke wheels, hopefully I can get some black ones for under 500$. So my question is, will my 240 look retarded with larger wheels and no drop, or should I go ahead and get lower springs to give it a better stance, then get the wheels?

Thanks for the help!

look around a bit and see wat other people are running... 17s will make your car sit alot higher without suspension

lowering springs are fine, but you probably will want to put aftermarket shocks in as well to ensure u dont blow your stock struts... no one will care if you have 17s and your car is bouncing all over the place...

honestly 17s are a bit too big, unless you have enough money to lower the car properly and make sure they fit well

plus w smaller wheels tires are cheaper

Ahh okay thanks guys, I'll probably just stick with some 16's then. The reason I'm saying just lowering springs is because to do a full suspension upgrade it seems I'd be paying around $2,000 for coilovers, or am I just looking in the wrong places? Also around $1,000 for new springs, redonkulus prices, or is that what I should expect?

Sorry for some of these nub questions, I am a 240 owner for two weeks now, and I'm just trying to build a fun, comfty, daily driver that looks hella hot for the weekends. I drove a 1988 Ford Aerostar previous to this...so I'm in heaven hahaha. But yeah, just trying to plan out my money flow...Thanks guys

In my opinion, a slammed S13 can easilly pull off 16 or even 15 inch wheels, but S14s look better with 17s.

You can find decent coilovers for ~$800, real good ones will run you over ~$1200.

As for springs, you can find decent ones will be less than $200. Hardcore racing springs typically go for less than $400. You'll need suitable shocks/struts for both.

Ahh okay, so should I just be looking for a nice set of coilovers? Or should I look for a set of coilovers/springs? Yeah, I sort of like the look of 17's on s14's. I plan on running red body, black wheels/accents...not really original but I love the look

But yeah, I'll start searching for more...what would be awesome is if someone could link a pic of an s14 with 16's compared to 17's

But I can do that myself whenever I get home, school ftl...

Sorry, I see now about suitable shocks/struts. I do not know a lot about suspension on a car...so do you either have coilovers OR lowering springs? You can't have both?

If I start asking too many dumb questions just tell me, ha

I read the wiki link, but I will have to read (study) that monster of an article later on this weekend when I can have my car as a reference or pictures yada yada. But I think I am getting a better grasp on things now though...so I'll probably just keep my eyes peeled for a deal on 17's, but suspension will be my first priority

Just Get Some Stock SE' Wheels. ~$150(Sell/Trade The Chrome Ones)Save For Some Decent Coilovers. ~$1,000

Then Look For Decent Wheels.

You know...I really like that idea, I can just sand down/acetone to paint the wheels black...

Thanks man!

Can't upload pics right now, will when I get home...bout an hour or two. They're chrome 5-spoke-ish sort of wheelsNot the cheap wal-mart kind, but just too high-profile for me
