I have one (actually 2) quick questions.

At the back of the block, there are two hardpipes, attached to each other which then attach to 2 rubber houses:1) The obvious turbo coolant hardline2) What seems to be a vacuum hardline (have no idea where this runs, 'yet'. Havent had a chace to follow the line)

1) Now, the stainless line is obviously a rubber hose within a braided steel housing (or tubing). Now, before, you had hardline - from turbo - to back of block - rubber hose which goes under intake mani. What is the best way to connect the two hoses, considering that the one from under the manifold (coolant hose for turbo) is of a smaller diameter to the new taka lines and also, your connecting a hose to a hose. What I simply did was a copper metal version to what looks like a vacuum line connector (pics follow suit in about 4 hours).

2) Any idea what the second line is for?? I reconnected it toanother vacuum port as if it were stock routed based off pictures and such, but havent had a chance to take a look at where it leads.

P.S Mods, I didnt want to hijack Ks' thread hence my posting. let me know if its alright

Thanks, Chris

Im pretty sure the this is the line for your hot start solenoid.

Most people bypass them in the U.K.

You're fine with this post. As the others have said it's a vacuum line. It's actually there to pull vacuum from the suction side of the turbo, which was nessicary in the stock configuration.

I would do as most of us do and ditch the line and hook up your vac lines as shown in the sitckies.

Ok, here are a few pics. Sorry for the size, but I wanted to make sure yall saw what I was talking about. I also looked through the stickies as you said float and I saw one of the pics of hooking the wastegate line up to a port on the hotpipe. Dont have one currently, but I will T off the BOV connection and use that.

Now, that raises a question. The factory turbo setup had a line coming from what seems to be the boost solenoid (actually, 2 lines). I just ran out of time today to figure out where to have them run. But, I also have another problem. Even with the wastegate hooked up to a vacuum source (like factory), my turbo is boosting over 15psi (I really dont know how much as as soon as I saw it, I let off in fear of blowing the sucker up). My peak reading at one point was 1.3 bar (around 17 psi) . Stock setup. I seem to hit fuel cut though, so, not too much worries on this end (and I lost a clamp in the process ). I even hook up a MBC, set it at full closed, and it still boost to around 15 or so. So, I am thinking wastegate spring?? Or maybe aftermarket actuator?? I will have to remove it to see what it says.

I would love to use my CA T25 actuator on there but I have no idea on how to remove it from the bracket...................

Anyways, here are pics of the line I am talking about and the hoses. Sorry for the sizes.

The hardline in question is attached to the factory turbo coolant hardline. Its the one wrapped with blue silicon tubing.

Line running under intake mani beside factory turbo line

I think this is the solenoid

Showing where the hose leads

Let me know if I have it correct and what they are all for. I will be sifting through the FSM tomorrow morning when I wake up.

Thanks.
