I just picked up a heat gun to remove the rear nissan badge from my ride and I'm going to replace with something different. Its a pewter keychain that i modified, and will post pictures on sunday when i get it on. but my question was what should i use to attach it to my vehicle so that i don't end up damaging my paint?(just in case i want to put the old one back)

Yeah, I'm using this to tape my rear emblem to the rear door as well as one of the side moldings. Hasn't failed yet.

Used 3M brand molding tape purchased from local auto parts store. You can try Autozone, Advanced Auto, Wal Mart etc..

Interested in seeing your new emblem. I looked for far too long to find something that would fit. Never found anything I liked. Ended up taking off the Nissan emblem, cutting off the arches, sanding, and painting it black.

I am ready to see what you have. just use velcro... then you can swap them out whenever you want.

Velcro doesn't sound too reliable. I can imagine that last snowflake or rain drop taking it over the limit and popping the emblem off.

i wouldn't use velcro or the fact that i don't want to make it so easy or someone to steal it. and also it was stick out from the body of the car.

Awww come on, I was only kidding. That was funny! If you want it to be permanent, you can find a very thin double stick tape at any auto store.
