i posted in infiniti mechanic and no response yet maybe more people will see this here i have a 92 q45a and i just replaced engine transmission and differential

when installing the rear diff i see this hose hanging off of it the fsm describes (in the one place i could find it) it as a breather

so the question is does the hose hook up to anything? its plugged now with a small screw but if its a breather should it be open? do i need a hose on it at all can i cut it really short it hangs almost below the rear axles

in any case im almost done and cant wait to get the Q back on the road its been almost a year. YAY !!

Just a pressure equalization vent...........loop so standing or spray water has a hard time being sucked in....................hot dif sudden cooling in a rain puddle or using Q as RV and forging river/streams.

Speed of response is often a function of how much cash one offers for an answer.............Forum members get spoiled by INET community freebees.

For every correct and money saving answer $75 should be sent to some worthy charity. Personal charities [buying a 6 pack don't count].
