in the write up it says to drain your oil before removing the valve cover, do you really need to do that? ive never had to do that on any other car ive worked on, and im wondering if ive missed something critical. Ive had my RAS since i did the swap but they got lossed amidst the mountain of parts and boxes and i found them today cleaning out my garadge. I want to go ahaid and put them in tomarrow but i just changed my oil yesterday and well, there ya go.

you dont have to drain the oil just clean around the valve cover and make sure nothing falls into the head.

Just because you have VTC doesn't mean you can't use/need them. You have to trim the valve cover inorder to use them on the S14 however. There is a writeup on zeroyon.com for the S14.

I have them on my S14 Sr and it's not a hard thing to do, just takes some time. Make sure you clean your V/C out good after you do the cutting though, otherwise you'll have little metal shavings in your oil afterwards.
