my 97 nissan hardbody is throwing a P1105 code. it is the MAP/BARO Pressure Switch Solenoid Valve. i have never heard of this. how important is this to keeping my motor running strong? should i replace it. its just a daily driver and i wanna keep it on the road for a long time w/o dumping toooo much money into it.

I have seen the MAP sensor on my truck (says "boost sensor" on it), but it has never given me any problems or thrown any check engine light. I wish I knew more to tell you.

the MAP sensor is the other form of MAF sensor. Without it, or with it malfunctioning, your truck wont run right.

97 D21 has both MAF and MAP sensors. Unplug the MAF and rpm blips at 2500. I have never tried to unplug the MAP.
