YES I SEARCHED and my answer was still unclear!

bought the kouki tails, they came with i guess a sealer with them (butyl?) and my question is on how to properly seal the lights so i dont get water in my hatch! my guess was to take off old lights, clean off old sealent from where the light is placed, put the new sealent on the frame where the old sealent was, then use a heat gun to warm it up, and then put on the light. is this correct? please dont flame me! just let me know the proper way of doing this! thanks!

Look at the portions of the rear section of the tail light that stick out a bit more. You'll know what I'm talking about. Those parts will poke through the car and show up on the inside of the trunk. Around those sections, you put the butyl seals there. Have the split of the butyl at the middle and bottom of the tail light section. Heat the butyl and the metal that it will contact with a heat gun and then tighten down. Heat up more if you're a bit paranoid, I did.
