Hopefully someone can help me with this one.... Why do you need to use the KA AC compressor? My motor came with an AC compressor and the ends of the lines (attached to compressor. I checked and the KA line to the condensor fits fine... it looks like the SR end going into the compressor from firewall and the KA hose need to be combined. I have a place near me that does hydralic lines and could probably put the SR end onto the KA hose... Is there another reason not to do this? I like the fact that the SR compressor uses ALL the bolts and is lined up perfectly, rather than the KA using only 2 bolts... any help would be great..

Nope the only reason why people use the KA compressor (for the DOHC that is) is so they don't have to get custom lines made (at least to my knowledge).

Thanks for the quick response Redtop... I thought so. AC lines are really only hydralic lines. Places that do large equiptment repair can make these pretty easily.... I was lucky and have the ends from the SR and just need them crimped onto my KA lines... and from the looks of it .. only one needs to be done... Living in SC with no AC is brutal...Thanks again..

yes you are correct. If you have the SR compressor and the ends that connect to the compressor then just bolt on the compressor and get custom lines made. You can either have one welded or crimped...

When I did my AC, I had to use the KA compressor I had from my S14 since I did not have any SR related AC components except for the brackets.
