Quick qestion about a diff.

anyhow can you use a s13 open diff in a s14

this is all i found when i searched and its for swaping a s14vlsd in to a s13thaks in advance

most s13s have 5bolt axlesall s14s have 6bolt axles

s14 diff housings have bushings and longer bolts to bolt them up to the bodys13s diff housings have no bushings

s13s rear covers have 4 boltss14 rear covers have 2

s14 and s13 diff housings are identical except for the part where they are bolted up to the body.

for an s13 diff into an s14 you need to1. Swap rear covers2. Get s13 diff bolts( to boldt up to car)3. Get s14 diff cover nuts( to bolt up to subframe)4. if the s13 diff is 5 bolt, source 5 bolt axels

for s14 diff into s131. swap rear covers2. get s14 diff bolts and bushings( to bolt up to car)3. get s13 rear cover nuts( to bolt up to subframe4. if s13 is 6bolt/ no worrysif s13 is 5bolt then find 6 bolt axels

Just a quick edit. I have never seen a 5 bolt axle S13 R200 diff. But the difference is the diff cover and bushings.

J30 diffs in 94 and the first half of 95 came with 5 bolt axles.

my diff is 5bolt and supposedly came out of a 180sx.but its not a us s13 so i may bewrong.but stilleverything else holds true.

Ahh yeah the VLSD's may be 5 bolt flanged (which you can just hammer out and put 6 bolt flanges into.

I have a VLSD from a 93 180 and it has 5 hole bolt pattern and im trying to fit it to a 95 240sx so does the 6 bolt flange fit? or do i have to change the axles?

nofind 5 bolt axles or 6bolt output shafts.

you can find 5bolt axles on some s13s or j30s i think.

you can tap out the 6 bolts axles from the stock diff with hammer and do the same with the 5 bolt and swap them
