My father drove the car. Driver side window is not working now.

Vehicle: 1992 240SX SE, power windows.Symptoms:

When pressing the button, the window goes down easily, but does not go up. You can hear motor spinning smoothly, but window does not move up.

This feels like the teeth on the motor are gone. Am I right?

What do I need to replace? How much that part will cost and what is the quickest way can I obtain it?

Thank you for your response.

DOES ANYONE EVEN CARES ABOUT ONLINE MECHANIC FORUM ANYMORE?

someone please answer by Monday(tomorrow), driving to downtown for a job interview; would like to fix it by then.

Power window motor works, and I have to pull it with my fingers, while pushing the button to move the window up. (otherwise it won't move up)

question: does the power window in 92 240sx use a belt? Because I do not hear gears grinding.

it could be a weak window motor, or the cable could be messed up. take off your door panel and inspect the window regulator itself to see if any cables are tangled up.

Had the same exact problem. Its an old weak motor. Just replace the motor. It is held on by 3 or 4 10mm bolts and has one plug i think. And your right it seems that no one cares about the Online Mechanic Section anymore, I cant get any responses to my problems.

Sounds like a weak motor as previously stated.

As for your accusations that no one seems to care about the NOM, I take that as an insult. I'm the moderator of this forum and I take it personally when someone sees fit to attack the way I handle things around here. If it was taking some time for you to get an answer, I apologize for that, as I simply cannot answer every single question from everysingle person. I rely on other members experiences to help answer all the questions I get.

Okay...If you are going to take it that way then let me explain myself. I am not attacking YOU personally or any of the moderators on NICO. I love NICO because of everything it has provided me. Since you do look in the NOM section I understand that you cannot answer every question you get, but how come you cant answer the first pages' questions or the first 10 or first 5. As a moderator aren't you supposed to browse the forums and make sure everything is kosher and help anyone in need. I have posted 2 different threads and got only one answer over a day later. I mean I know there are more moderators than just you or just a few. Back to what I was saying before, I still do believe it is forgotten because barely any moderators or any users reply to any threads. Usually all I see is a bunch of threads that are all original posts or people bumping them because no one has answered. So as a proud member of NICO I took it upon myself to help you moderators out and browse the forums and answer anything I can.

Your proud member,

Vernal
