what year 240sx and what engine do you have?

if you have the SOHC, standing in front of the engine, it would be located on the intake side of the motor. the filler container is a cylindrical shaped olive colored container that is located in front, above of the PS pump. the container shouldnt be so hard to miss.

with the DOHC or SR, the location of the reservoir is on the exhaust side of the motor, as with the PS PUMP. again. not too hard to miss.

you would want to bleed the system for air so it turns without problems. with the front wheels off the ground, engine on, cut the wheel left all the way, then right, and repeat. that way air would be out of the system and your PS Pump would operate at specified pressures.

so when bleeding the system. where would the air be escaping from? the filler container?

yeah it would escape from the filling container. just watch the surface of the fluid and wait for it to stop bubbling. as soon as it stops bubbling the system has correct pressure and no air will be present.
