i'm having trouble understanding where the rear strut bar goes on an s14 so if someone could show me a picture of one installed please do so. I tried lifting the carpet in the trunk on that "shelf" thing and i see sound proofing material glued on, but no place for a strut bar. i have an SE so was expecting to see one because i figure they are stock. the s13 does not have this "shelf" thing made out of sheet metal and i can only find pictures of s13s with rear strut bars. i have a 98 so a quick picture would be great. I was cusco os front and cusco rear because fitment looks excellent

Not sure if it's a 13 or 14, but it's a 240 RSB

Don't know. I did a search on google for a 240 rear strut bar and that's what I found.

i think that's a pic of an s13. anyways, i got some pics from my s14 for ya if it helps. i remember the rear was a biotch to get on cuz i wasn't quite sure how it went in. you gotta take the bar apart and install the endlinks first and then put the middle bar on afterwards. there isn't a whole lot of space to work with so take your time. anyways, here's the pics of my cusco os:

what it should look like when it's done another pic of end result shot from the interior another shot from the interior

hope it helps. good luck.

*edit: pics should work now

Yes, after a little further looking that is from an S13. Good info about taking the bar apart to install.

fitment depends on the manufacture... the braces on my nismo rstb come through the parcel shelf and the bar sits over the parcel shelf...

Here is a picture of it from jspec

just some little random infoJIC - goes above the rear parcel shelf.NISMO - goes above the rear parcel shelf.CUSCO - goes below the rear parcel shelf.CPRACING - doesnt even appear to attach to the strut tower.if you have a lot of money and want to look super bling i suggest the NISMO, CUSCO, and CPRACING all at the same time. you could have all 3 of them in there for maximum overkill bracing.

yup, you have to cut your parcel shelf or i guess you could take it out but it would look like crap. Mine had to be cut... its nothing big, the nismo rstb comes with plates to go over the holes so it has a finished look... ill see if i can get some pics

Apzak, correct me if I'm wrong but, about the stock question. I believe you might be thinking of the sway bar, not the strut bar. I believe the SE & Hicas come stock with a thicker sway bar than other models. These are underneath the car and minimize body roll.

most interesting about the cutting of the shelf!i am suprised the NISMO of all the brands requires you to cut the shelf. weird.

matchstyc you are correct that they come stock with sways. not stbs'...

base = front sway onlySE and LE = front and rear sways, I don’t think there is a difference in thickness between trim models.

----------------------------------

and TurboKA37 here are some prices that I found on the NISMO rear stb for the 95-98 s14jspec.com - $270 shipped, (I'm almost positive this is the silver one, you may want to double check with Sam)nismoparts.com - $251.52 (I don’t know if this is the silver one or the black one)courtesyparts.com - $263.41 (this is the black one)

I’m sure there are some other places that have it, but those are the only ones I know of off the top of my head. If you contact any of these vendors they will probably give you some sort of discount if you ask about it.
