I've used Outlook 2000 for 3 years now, and I cant figure out how to make it send immediately when I hit send. I hate having to open up the main window and hit Send/Receive. When I hit send, I want it to immediately Send/Receive.

Any idea how?

Thanks!-Jesda

I think Outlook will only do that if you have the Corporate Support selected.

Tools > Options > Mail Services > Reconfigure Mail Support > Corporate / Workgroup

It expects to find Microsoft Exchange Server with this option.

In other words, you can do it at work, but not at home.

If I upgraded to Office XP (I assume it comes with Outlook 2003) could I then do it? Its so odd, back in the mid 90s I could do this with Eudora.

I dont have a Send tab. I'm using Outlook that came with Office 2000 Pro, are you using Outlook Express?

Yeah, I as much meant "Do you have that tab" as I meant "Do you have the option checked?"

Sorry for any confusion.

Also a quick google showed some interesting techforum threads concerning - Outlook 2000 auto-send.

I found a sort-of solution here...http://www.annoyances.org/exec...22502

The explanation the guy posted isnt correct, but after some digging I found the checkbox. I cant believe I missed it!

I guess that's the problem with continually advanced software with existing user interfaces... every feature gets crammed into a mess of checkboxes, tabs, and buttons.

Thanks!-Jesda

Office XP = Office 10 or 2002

Office 2003 = Office 11 or 2003.

Outlook 2003 is a very worthwhile upgrade fro thos who live by email.
