i have a stock oil pan, already have 4 quarts of mobil 1 syn., noticed a small lifter tick and wanted to put some lucas full syn stabilizer, would that be okay or would i be overfilling the engine? was thinking maybe 1/2 a quart.

Putting more oil in isn't going to cure your lifter tick. You should be already overfilled. The sr usually only take 3.5 quarts. Overfilling oil isnt a good idea. Once the level of the oil gets up to the crackshaft, as the crank turns, it kind of churns the oil and thins it out.

Try pulling the lifters and bleeding them. There really isnt any other way to fix it.
