I've been reading all of the post on the oil drains for a while now and have still wondered how the RSX greddy kit uses a banjo bolt on the drain plug??? I know its not that hard to tap the oil pan and thats what I plan on doing but this is kinda like an " I wanna know" question.... I got to thinkin that maybe the oil coming out of the turbo still has enough pressure on it to return even if the drain is under the oil level in the pan??? As im almost positive that the oil doesnt lose all of the pressure going through the center cartridge on a turbo.. If im worng please let me know.. Any ways any input is appriciated... Thanks -Jake

It is essential that the oil drain be ABOVE the oil level...even if there were enough pressure in the oil drain line (there is substantially less pressure in this compared to the feed line...and it should be, considering the drain line is usually 2-3x the size of the feed line), it's still a terrible idea to have the drain line going below the oil level....the oil WILL back up in that line and cause considerable damage...

Just do it the way that it's supposed to be done
