Alright Nico brothers and sisters, i've been trying to get my 240 running for the past month and i have been taking it easy however i have finally gotten everything together and yet it still will not run. i redid the head gasket on the ka and resealed with arp bolts and torqued down to spec. so to get to the point i did a compression test on my car and i got these results 115-120 in the first 3 cylinders but only 60 in the 4th. i tried again with oil in the cylinder and got the same results. from what i know you would get little to no compression with bent valves so would 60 psi indicate bent valves or perhaps that it did not seal well? i'm sorry to be so vague but i'm in such a rush and i will try my absolute best to describe what i have done thus far and answer questions if you would help me out.

well..first i need more info...when was the last time the motor was repaired?....if the answer is not in 100k miles..its time....now to your head gasket...did ya torque it down..loosen the retorque again?..or just torque it once?....and for the valve seats....its possible to fix the valve seats with a minor abrasive...but this must be done with the head removed and the springs removed allso...i have a few pics in my "myspace" folder in the pics section under valve lapping...if there not bent..you can do it that way..if there bent...you have issues bigger than my advice.

hey there liquid cool, thanks for the info, i finally got it to start/ idle. ignition timing was off. but the issue i have now is that there is hesitation when i hit the gas and if i'm not too careful the engine will die. i've lurked here on the site for a few years so this would bring me to my tps, maf, vacuum leak. please let me know if i'm forgetting something.
