What's the output (hp) of a stock '69 mustang

What's the output (hp) of a stock SS Camero?

Which one is faster?

What year Camaro SS?

The old stangs put out 350hp and ran a 13.5-14 quarter mile.

The new Camaro SS is rated at like 310, but puts out like 350-380, Fryrices puts out like 440 with bolt ons. They run a low 13.

Re: the Stang: Depends on the engine. I think in 69 at least 4 engine options were available.

Regardless, a modern SS will outrun the stang in the 1/4.

Thanks for the info, should help. Of course, I found out from her (my friend, the person with whom I was arguing) that the 'stang had a new 400hp v8 pushing it after I started recommending the SS. God, I fear for everyone around her, she's maybe 5ft 2" and wrecked her last car (97 or so mustang v6) pulling out from a stop light, she says it wasn't her fault but it's hard to believe. She was dangerous with less than 200 hp, she'll be deadly with 400...

regardless of the engine, I would still rather go with the Camaro. There's just something about Ford that I dont like--- I cant put my finger on it. Besides-- look at moden mustangs!! GAH! they've destroyed it! Those fake louvers and intake on the hood! It's plastic molded with a honeycomb shape! Not to mention a 4.6L V8... WTF is that?! And damn, they're comin out with a restyled mach 1 too.... another car ruined in my book.

I dont like thinking about mustangs anymore.. what was once totally sweet is now total garbage... and I see that commercial with that Ford dude... sayin somethin like "If I could have 1 car my whole life it would be a red convertable mustang with a throaty v8 and a great sound system..." arrrrrgUGH it just BOTHERS me!

I just won't buy anything from Ford b/c of the Explorer rollovers-I don't give a damn who's fault it was, but Ford caused alot of them by covering the problem over. In my opinion the Ford corporation should be sued, and it's leaders executed. I'm not usually a proponent of capital punishment, but those bastards deserve it. That said, the cameros seem to have higher outputs, and they are badass pony cars. Anyway, what's with a 4.6litre V8 that only has an output of 210 hp? I mean, if the sr could push 200 on 4, and even the 140 without a turbo, you'd think they could have a bit more power, kinda a waste.
