Does the navigation headunit play regular music CDs as well as the map DVD-ROM?

Ok, make that two questions: Can the nav system play DVD movies, too? (If not, is there a mod to make playing movies possible on the stock nav equpiment?)

yes the stock system play regular CD's but doesn't play DVD there is a way to hook a video input to the stock unit but you have to buy a DVD player for it sperately

That's good to hear. I installed my pop-up screen today although I don't yet have the nav unit. I was worried that I'd have to get the CD changer for the trunk to play CDs. Thanks for saving me $150!

are you talking about a stock unit or a after market unit?

Stock nav system. With this unit alone, can I play music CDs? (Meaning, can I play regular CDs in the navigation CD slot in the top half of this unit.)



In the pict below, the thick black wire going from the nav box to the stereo leads me to believe you can play CDs in the navigation slot, but I'd just like to be sure.
