so i did a burnout the other day and my friend said that both wheels were moving and not just the one like most 240's without HICAS do. the previous owner did nothing to this car as well. so i was wondering is it normal that my stock(NON-HICAS) 240sx SE has a limited slip differential?

My buddies did the same. We figured out that when you're in reverse before a burnout it locks the LSD. If you did that..... Solved

If traction is even enough then both will spin. You do a burnout long enough though and usually one will stop.

Have you spun the rear wheels with it in the air and checked that you don't have an VLSD or something like that in it? Its doubtful but possible some one else swapped in a viscous.

alright, well i was going to try that next.

but do you think its possible that some non-hicas 240's came with an lsd or vlsd as an option?

Jack it up and spin the tires... too bad the MIN numbers wont tell you if theres a VLSD in it only what package it had... and as most of you know 240's are notorious for mixing and matching options for the same package... SE with VLSD and without etc. etc.

alright, i lifted the 240 up and when i hit the gas, both wheels turned. but when its in neutral, both wheels spin but one would spin slow than the other. the same thing happened when it was in drive until i hit the gas, then both wheels spin at the same speed. my friend also put his foot on one tire to stop it while in neutral and the other wheel would spin faster. so i dont know whats going on lol.

btw its an autotragic right now. 5spd swap soon.
