hey guys,

As you know I've been everything short of AWOL the last few months... Its been an intense last 4 months this past semester...

Most of you know im an engineering student up at tri-state university... I got to do some pretty cool stuff this semester, actually getting into some core stuff.. With that said, i had to work pretty hard and between that and having a girlfriend (who is also a mechanical engineer, how cool is that?) its meant less Q time in general..

This semester I programmed a maze searching robot for my mechatronics class... Also got to design a rocker arm for an engine in my computer aided machine design class. Maybe in a couple days ill post up some info on that if anyone is curious what kind of crap goes into designing something simple like a rocker arm. Managed to pull a B in mechatronics, an A in thermodynamics, a C in dynamics (what a PITA class), a C in computer aided machine design, and we wont talk about my machine component design class...

Since the big meet in July Ive probably only driven my Q about 500-700 miles... I dont really have anywhere to drive to, except maybe to go pick up a case for friday night....

Last week had to replace the battery in my Q, some r-tard left the door cracked and completely drained the battery... Needless to say, the 6 year old battery didnt feel compelled to be the source of electron movement for my vehicle anymore, forcing me to buy a new one.

Today I changed the oil and coolant (been a while since I did that), and Im going to be fixing the trim around the windshield. I have 4 brand new 215-65-15 michelin alpin snow tires ready to go on, it was quite an adventure going home with my 275mm rear summer tires in the ICE, but the Q lives.

Over break im going to be here quite a bit more (cold as hell outside, and nothing to do at home), and hopefully fix a few more of the stupid issues on my Q. Im going to be brave and maybe see if I can repair the LCU on the passenger side, im suspecting the only thing that goes wrong with them is bad solder joints... Also need to figure out why my HICAS isnt working... Ahh fun times!!!

I figured it was female persuasion that separated man from machine! Make her pay!

Rocker arm? How retro!

What's next, buggy whip design?

Enjoy your break.

I used to be an engineering student myself (electrical and computer engineering). I am doing my masters in engineering now.

All I can say is.. it is fun but also very challenging. I think you can learn the stuff that particularly interets you in the senior years.
