hey guys, dont flame me too bad k? Im looking for a 300hp set up. I know thats not very hard to accomplish, its not a huge $$$ issue for me, but I personally like the idea of keeping my KA and doing something different than every SR guy around my area, now cost comparison to the SR. I wont have the money to go with forged pistons or anything, but say, all new seals, gaskets, bearings, and rings, and a turbo kit put on, would the motor with stock internals freshly rebuilt handle 10psi I heard it could handle around 12? will 10 psi be enough to accomodate my 300hp goal? and how much do you guys on average think this set-up would run me cash wise? thanks.

yo mayne, I posted this in KA-T didnt I? wtf maybe Im seeing crap.

Edit: wait wait, no. it is in KA-T my eyes did not serve me wrong, as they have many times before, I thought maybe I had made a blunder and posted this in Gen. chat, but yeah, I would like a reliable 300hp KA-T setup. thats my goals not 800hp, nothing crazy insane, a nice daily driven 300hp, I can take to the track on weekends.

if your going to rebuild the motor, you might as well get forged pistons, just save your paycheck for 1 more week (they are about $400, and come with rings) youll thank yourself later for doing this.

Ive met atreyu and seen them 3 times...So i shall just save for the forged pistons? how many lbs of boost do u estimate it would cost for me to be pushing 300 safe horses?

it depends on your turbo and setup, but anywhere from 12 to about 16 psi.

I have the cometic oversized gasket. 8.6:1, who needs pistons? As long as you have EGT/Aux Box and don't need more than about 350hp, call it good. If your head is not shaved you can get 9.1:1 out of the .074" gasket. I am running the .120", but I also have a shorter head. On a stock head it gives 8.3:1, way too low.

Budget 300whp setup:stock block/headT3/T04E, 50 trim compressor, 0.48 or 0.63 turbine or Garrett GT32minimum 480cc injectors (550cc are prolly better)SAFC (Enthalpy ECU is a great option and better management is the best place to spend extra money IMO.)base timing retard (or MSD BTM. It gives you boost dependent retard.)3" catback and properly sized front mount ICboost ~12psi and grin like a madman!

You can go cheaper by finding used or OEM parts...
