Hi there, Quick one: what's the top brass 'plug' on DE/SR injector used for? These are side feed, so the fuel comes into the side. Fuel comes out the bottom. But what is the circular, land portion in front of the harness connector? There's a brass piece sticking out the middle... Is this for servicing?

The reason I ask is this: I bought a set of used 370cc purple-tops, and on one of the injectors, the 'cup' surrounding the brass plugs is broken. Is there an o-ring that sits in here? The below picture shows that brass-colored piece(yellow), and the broken 'surround'. Is this a problem?

Thanks for looking.

i know exactly what you are talking about and have long wondered the exact same thing. i know we have a new sponsor that modifies nissan injectors to higher flow rates so i am going to try to find them and get them in this thread.

You know, I actually called RC engineering this morning: I wanted to see what their cleaning service included. FYI their $27/inj service includes replacement of the pintle!

Anyways, I asked about that brass piece: his response was, "...I'v worked with those injectors before but I really don't know what it's for..". He said that top portion is used to hold the injector in the rail: is there an o-ring that goes in there?

Possibly a safety over-pressure release?

Here's a picture of an SR injector in it's rail, if that sponsor contact does chime in: I guess that land area isn't critical if it's broken, since there should be no fuel pressure there.
