I hope this isnt a newbie style question, but what does the T in some of the model #s mean. for instance there is the I30, then the I30T, J30, J30T, G20, G20T. In other manufacturers I know the T stands for Turbo, but I know for the nissan manufacturer, that isnt the case

T stands for touring.

Its just some basic addons. In most cases a spoiler and different wheels + other extras.

You've obviously never seen under the hood of a Q...

Perhaps hes saying that would be impossible, or that it wouldn't fit, or that it looks beautiful, or that its already plenty powerful

I know the Q45T has the 4.1L V8 putting out somewhere near 270hp. but that is a luxury car, its like a Cadillac with the Northstar system. Very powerful and comfortable with not much room in the engine bay after the motor is in. But Im sure if someone had the cash, they could put in a slightly smaller motor, TT it or a single turbo, and be way past 270hp

There is a NICO member who is attempting or has attempted or has a turbo Q

I like when people stretch themselves to the point of doing what others think cant be done. I dont have much of a choice on my car since there really isnt a whole lot available for it. I know that with a stage 3 turbo setup on my car and fully tuned, I would be lucky to see 400hp, but the car wont be reliable. My thing is I want the power and the reliability

If someone can fit a 4.1 (turbo, I think) into an S13, I'm sure you can fit a turbo under the hood. It would be better to start with the pre-97 4.5, that (pre-96) made more HP and lots of TQ.

Beyond 250whp in a B13,14, U13, 14, etc. you'll start having issues with trannies, trannie cases, mounts, etc.

A 250whp DET in your Bluebird would make for a low 14sec daily driver with no compromises, and cheap.

No offense to anyone who drives one, but a KA is a Hardbody motor, no more.

The KA has a lot of potential. I dont take offense to it at all BTW. I just have done a lot of research, and this truck motor is very strong. its weak point is the piston head and rings

I dont know what the cadillac is doing in the same sentence as infiniti q45t.

see, cadillacs are a disgrace and shouldn't be purchased by anyone seeking reliability.

I was just using the cadillac as a referrence point. my friend had a 95 Sedan Deville, and it had no room under the hood, but put out a lot of power. it was fast in the straight aways, but if you came to a turn, forget it. And trust me, I know about General Miseries cars, I wont own another one as long as I live

This may be out of place. But wasn't someone putting a turbo in a J30? I haven't heard anything about that project, just that he was serious and was actually making progress. Im dying for those pics!!

FYI - Only the 97-01 Q45's had the 4.1 engine. Pre-97's were 4.5l, and the earliest Q's (90-93) hovered around 300hp.
