Well there you go , a whole forum section dedicated to the CA18.

Id just like to say hello and perhaps long ion here and there and see what is new, perhaps show what im up to. Im currently building a R32 Nissan Skyline GTS with a CA18DET into a dual purpose circuit / drift car.

I want a heap of ponies on a built motor, with 1150kg. That should be fun.

Anyways, my freinds and fellow tuners here havea dislike what im doing, apparenlty im going about it all wrong, but RB26's are done, SR20's, no thanks ... and i love being the underdog with a awesome little motor - the CA18.

Anyways, hope to talk soon.

Thats funny you mention that ... here in Aus its quite different.

The S13 boys yank the CA and put in SR's , cause CA's are crap. Or they yank out CA's and even SR's for RB's ... case CA's are still crap , and would love to totally destroy the whole feel to the Silvia / 180sx chassis with a long, heavy straight 6 (dont take it personal if im talking about you), or the best ones are the ones that yank CA's for Toyota 2JZ's ....

While i love my 2JZ, putting one in a S13 is 1/8th of a step better than a '72 cast iron head 350 chev with a Holley 650dp. Ugh ...

Either way if you like CA's, your a winner, cause we pick up motors for pocket change ... apparently cause they are crap. Apparently.

Gabby, Shall do. Im currently doing a dry install on the engine stand, fabbing up items and sorting out what i need and what i dont before it goes in and get a tune.

Another fellow australian :D joining nico...

Welcome to the forum, yep the poor little CA cops a flogging about being crap don't they..

It is only because 90% of the people don't understand the science behind some of the technology, then jump on the bandwagon with the rest of the sheep like populous lol..

Post some pics of your build, it is something you don't really see too often in an R32 skyline...

Your right.

I have 4 CA's here, including the one going into the car. The other 3 were failed engines with bottom end knocks and so on ... i picked up for a carton of beer each. Each engine has black filthy sludge im talking head galleries are full of this crap, and the owners complain that CA's are crap. No. How about a little maintinace first. They get flogged, bounced off the limiter, and when they give up in stock trim, "its a crap motor". hahhaa .... nah.

No its not, the JGTC Supra's inspired me with the 3S-GTE 2L in the JZA80 , lower in torque = driveable, lighter, no engine infront of the front axles, lower ... it all results in superior handling.

We see. 450hp at 1150kg ? . Should annoy even quite a few GT-R owners.
